Gwen, the Founder
Gwen Yi founded Tribeless in 2016 with a dream — to create safe spaces in our everyday lives where we can skip the small talk and #SeeTheHumanFirst.
Today, Tribeless® is an empathy training company that is trusted by some of the most humane, forward-thinking organizations in the world. We design and deliver experiential programs that turn Empathy into a fun, tangible, sustainable practice for the whole team. We are the proud creators of The Empathy Box© and #EmpathyCircles®, our proprietary methodology that is loved and used by leaders in 40+ countries.
Starting out as a youth camp facilitator at 18, Gwen has gone on to train and speak at hundreds of programs across Asia, Europe and America. Her honest, playful and interactive approach has been described as “generous”, “supportive” and “endlessly inspiring”.
Gwen’s work has received recognition from TED, UNICEF, Ashoka, and One Young World. She is an Obama Foundation Asia-Pacific Leader, an Associate Fellow with the Royal Commonwealth Society, and a Global Shaper under the World Economic Forum.
Fun Fact: Gwen knows all of the lyrics to (most) pop songs from the early 2000’s. She once rapped ‘Ice Ice Baby’ at Bearpit Karaoke in a public London park.

favorite talks over the years
I won my first public speaking competition when I was nine years old.
Since then, the stage has felt like a second home. Over the span of two decades, I’ve had the privilege of returning to it again & again to share, educate, and inspire.
I love speaking about Empathy, Mental Health, and my Entrepreneurship Journey to young leaders & emerging founders. I pride myself in making each talk interactive and practical! 🌟
